College & Career Attainment Program Manager
Maddy joined DTS as a summer intern in 2018 aiding in the flurry of 8 summer programs (now more). She recently returned to the organization in the role as a capacity builder and is transitioning into the role of an Advisor.
Maddy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theatre with a focus in socially engaged performance creation and a minor in Spanish. While at Whitman College, she coordinated a service program training college students to teach creative historical lessons about the civil rights movement to approximately 1,200 K-12 students. She stayed in her school’s town of Walla Walla to facilitate and create socially engaged theatre in conjunction with local immigrants, fellow activists, and community members. After that, she moved to Spain to teach English in elementary schools. All of the freshman DTS high schoolers she worked with in the summer of 2018 are now attending college.
